CARES Team

Management

The Coordinator of the CARES has responsibility for overall management of the Centre. The Centre helps support Faculty in their research and publication efforts and coordinates research and program evaluation projects with external agencies. The Coordinator supports and facilitates the Researcher-in-Residence program and maintains on-going communication with school divisions, educational authorities and research networks. The Coordinator of the CARES is appointed by the Dean.

Department of Graduate Studies and Field Research

BU CARES is closely linked with the Department of Graduate Studies and Field Research. On a continual basis the CARES helps strengthen the graduate studies program by supporting and encouraging applied or action research, evidence-based decision making, and program evaluation. The Centre also plays a critical role in helping the Faculty of Education achieve its mandate to provide high quality professional teacher education and engage in educational research.

BU CARES Advisory Committee

The BU CARES Advisory Committee helps identify current and future trends in aboriginal and rural education and provides input into the Centre’s annual research agenda. The Committee meets annually with the Dean, Chair of Graduate Studies and Field Research, and the Coordinator of BU CARES. Members of the Committee come from a broad range of stakeholders groups.

Research Affiliates

The field research activities of the Centre involve many individuals including the teaching faculty, graduate students and individuals designated as Research Affiliates of the Centre.

Individuals receiving the designation of Research Affiliate of the Centre are highly regarded and experienced educational leaders or researchers. Anyone interested in applying for designation as a Research Affiliate of the Centre should contact the Centre Coordinator.
