Priorities

Our goal for the BUILD campaign is to raise $22 million to support three key projects that will attract and retain students ensuring their success at Brandon University and beyond.

Healthy Living Centre – $7 Million

The total capital cost for the Healthy Living Centre is $24.3 million. Private donors have contributed $6.3 million, with the federal, provincial and municipal governments committing an additional $12.5 million. The BUILD Campaign will raise $7 million in support of capital, programming and equipment costs for the Healthy Living Centre.

Competitive Scholarships and Bursaries – $5 Million

A $1 Million endowment fund will be established for each faculty at BU, including Arts, Science, Music, Health Studies and Education. These endowments will annually generate a $10,000 scholarship (approximately) in each of these areas of study. The students receiving these scholarships will, based on continued academic excellence, receive this scholarship support throughout all four years of their degree.

Support for Aboriginal Student Success – $10 Million

A total of $10 million will be raised to support Brandon University’s plans for recruiting, retaining and supporting Aboriginal students. $2 Million will be directed to a recruitment program to help Aboriginal students gain access to university, and an additional $8 Million will provide for an intensive support program once the students are on campus to aid in their transition to university life through the Aboriginal Student Success Program.
