Information for Graduates

Formal graduation is conditional upon all grades being available and all outstanding fees being paid. If you owe ANY monies to Brandon University you will not receive your degree parchments or transcripts until your account is paid in full.

Attire Rental

Blue caps, blue gowns and the appropriate coloured hoods and tassels will be available for rent to those graduands attending the ceremony.

To receive your academic attire, you must pre- order your attire online through Gaspards and Sons: Brandon University Hood and Gown Registration System

• Order Deadline: May 15, 2013
• Pick up time: 2 hours prior to the ceremony
• Cost: $31.36 (includes taxes)

Gowns will be available for pick up May 31, 2013 commencing at 8:00 a.m. in the Henry Champ Gymnasium. Gowns are to be returned to the same location within one hour of completion of your ceremony.

Graduation Attire

Cap, tassel, gown and hood are compulsory attire for Convocation. You may not attend the ceremony without Graduation attire as described below:

• Cap/Tassel
  • worn flat on head (not tilted back on head)
  • may be pinned to hair
  • tassel to be positioned over right eye (will be moved to the left upon instruction at the ceremony)
• Gown
  • zipper up the front
• Hoods
  • “V” at front, pinned at bottom of “V” and at each shoulder.

Note: Hair pins and straight pins will be provided.

What can I bring/carry?
Flowers may not be carried across the stage. Corsages however, may be worn. No provisions are made to hold purses, cameras or any other valuables for grads during the ceremonies.

Provisions for cameras, purses or other personal belongings are not available.

Transcripts

Official transcripts may be ordered through Financial & Registration Services. It is your responsibility to order official transcripts. If you order transcripts prior to convocation, please ensure that you ask Financial & Registration Services to mail your transcripts AFTER convocation.
