The
Eckhardt-Gramatté
Conservatory of Music

Programs

The following programs are offered from the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music:

  1. Kindermusik

Listen and move. Play and grow. This is Kindermusik, the most trusted music and movement program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and young children. Kindermusik is about kids, parents, and teachers—coming together and having a great time! It’s about helping you grow closer to your child.

  2. Orff

Orff is a complete music education program that develops and nurtures all aspects of musicianship in children. Orff students experience the essentials of music in thought and expression through singing songs, listening and moving to music, playing musical games, performing on instruments, and creating their own music.

  3. Suzuki Talent Education

Music is learned by the “mother tongue approach,” the same way children learn their language.
Suzuki is a method based on the premise that children learn by absorbing what is in their environment. Students listen to tapes and CDs of the Suzuki repertoire from the time they are born.

  4. Conservatory Chorale

The Conservatory Chorale is an Internationally recognized choral program with over 100 voices ages five and up from throughout South-Western Manitoba. The choirs perform extensively both nationally and internationally and have consistently won acclaim at all levels.

  5. Ensembles

Featured Conservatory ensembles include Chorale, Guitar, Chamber Music, and a Jazz Combo class.

  6. String Orchestra

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the String Orchestra Program at the Conservatory to provide an opportunity for string players age 7 and up to study and perform in a group environment. The orchestras are made up of traditional and Suzuki students.

Student placement in our orchestra program can be arranged by audition or on the recommendation of the student’s private teacher in consultation with the conductor of the orchestra. Students will be expected to perform in at least two concerts per year and may be asked to participate in the annual Brandon Music Festival. The Orchestra Program runs for 30 sessions from September to May.

  7. Private Theory and History Lessons

All Royal Conservatory courses taught by arrangement. For further information please contact Director Mary Jo Carrabré

  8. Satellite – MacGregor
