Orff
Orff is a complete music education program that develops and nurtures all aspects of musicianship in children.
Orff students experience the essentials of music in thought and expression through singing songs, listening and moving to music, playing musical games, performing on instruments, and creating their own music.
The Classes
Children meet once a week for a lesson with other students of the same age and level of musical development.
Orff is a carefully sequenced presentation of music reading and music performing skills.
The main instrument is the child’s voice. Pitched instruments such as xylophones and glockenspiels, and non-pitched percussion instruments such as drums, maracas and woodblocks are also used.
Children experience the joy of making music in a cooperative and noncompetitive group setting.
Puppets, musical games, and children’s literature enrich the musical learning.
The Students
Ages 3 and up
Students can begin the Orff program if they are three years old at the time of registration. Students will be placed in classes with children who are similar in age and musical experience.
The Teachers
The Orff teachers are Michelle Bouchard & Edie Smith.
