I was born and lived in Manitoba my entire childhood. I have lived in Winnipeg, northern and southern Manitoba.

Teaching Interests: Gender and Transnational History.

Research Interests:
Latin American History, women’s History, comparative Indigenous history.

Publications:

  • “Gott es hiea uck:  Gender and Identity in an Immigrant Family,” in The Journal of Mennonite Studies, 22 (2004).  Which explores the history of one of my great-aunt’s who immigrated to Paraguay. It was a very pivotal and painful moment for my extended Family and it was deeply moving to explore that story and than have it published.
  • “God Doesn’t Like the Revolution: The Archbishop, the Market Women and the Economy of Gender, 1944-1954,” Explores the role of poor women in the anti-revolutionary movement in Guatemala.
