Help with Email

Current Email systems:

The official Email for Students is Webmail

The official Email for Employees is Groupwise

You can change your password for either at http://password.brandonu.ca

Employee Email use on Mobile phones is as follows:

  • Fully synchronized Groupwise on Blackberry requires a corporate phone and license
  • Groupwise on iPhone requires purchase of the GWMail app (and GWCal)
  • any other usage requires selecting the “basic web interface” checkbox

To install the Groupwise client on your computer:

  • Log into Novell
  • Go to the M:
  • Open the Groupwise folder
  • Open the most recent installation file for the system you are using.
  • Follow the installation steps
  • Open Groupwise when finished
  • Enter your username, password, and enter the address as groupwise.brandonu.ca

 

Outdated Email Programs:

If you are using Outlook or another email client it is possible that your email isn’t being saved on our network server and is therefore more susceptible to being lost through a system failure on your computer.

A common problem Outlook has, occurs if your account runs out of space. Outlook will report an error viewing your folders, or will report an error in the pst file. The repair process can take a long time.
