Facilitator: Rick Piche, RPN*, Certified in MBSR* – Centre for Adult Psychiatry, Brandon RHA
May 30 (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon)
Room 043, Lower Level – Health Studies Complex
It doesn’t take much to start feeling stressed and overwhelmed in the face of life’s challenges, expectations and demands in the workplace and at home, and trying to find balance in our relationships.
In this two hour session, learn how mindfulness, the practice of becoming more fully aware of the present moment, non-judgmentally and completely, can help you to deal with stress and gain perspective, among other things. The facilitator will end the session by guiding you through the practice of mindful meditation.
Stress is an inevitable part of life which directly impacts our physical and mental well-being. When we meditate, we create a state that brings together physical relaxation with mental alertness, and the benefits reach into every aspect of our lives.
Benefits of Mindfulness
The benefits of mindfulness meditation increase with regular practice.
