Food Services

Brandon University’s Food Service Department is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our customers through product and service excellence. Food Services are responsible to provide the majority of retail, dining plan and catering services to the campus community.

Food Service Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Our Food Service Staff consists of approximately 24 full-time/term employees and approximately 5 casual employees. Any food related questions or concerns might be brought to the attention of our Lead Cook, Chris Demers.

We provide flexible hours of operation 7 days a week, service with style and atmosphere in our Main Dining Room, Louis Riel Room and our Charley Biggs’ Chicken location. We also provide catering services for internal meetings and receptions along with external groups for weddings, anniversaries and party requirements of all types and sizes.

The Main Dining Hall offers varied healthy meals. A declining balance meal package is available whether you live on or off campus. This service delivers convenience and excellent prices to students and staff. You pay for your meals in advance, while preserving your ability to choose when and what you want to eat.

Entrees available at each meal include: Mr. Sub, Wok Bowl, Pasta, Grill Items, Lunch/Supper Specials and Salad Bar. Other items offered during the day are the bakery corner, assortment of fresh pizza, homemade soups, fresh made assortment of sandwiches, confectionery foods, drinks, ice cream novelties and a variety of breakfast breads, waffles and bagels.

Charley Biggs’ Chicken which is located on the lower level of McMaster also offers a variety of meals including chicken and pizza. Our chicken in cooked in zero trans-fat free oil along with appetizers. You can also enjoy our made-to-order Chef’s, Caesar and Tossed Salads.

Brandon University Residents, Staff and Faculty and off-campus Customers enjoy our well-prepared meals in our spacious, comfortable Dining Hall, and our newly renovated Charley Biggs’ location, for a quieter and more relaxing environment.
