Physical Plant

The Physical Plant Department is responsible for the overall care and operation of the Brandon University complex. The Campus consists of 25 acres of land, 20 buildings, having about 860,000 sq. ft. Physical Plant is responsible for the following campus operations – Custodial Services, Maintenance, Grounds Keeping, Pick Up and Delivery, Workplace Safety and Health, and Security. Physical Plant has a staff of 36 people. The staff consists of a Director, Supervisor, Receptionist, Grounds Keeper, Delivery and Pick Up person, 19 Custodial staff, and 10 trades consisting of 4 Engineers, an Electrician, Electrician/Engineer, Plumber, Painter, and 2 Carpenters.

Physical Plant services can be accessed at 727-9620 and Security at 727-9700, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Security services are contracted from OBO Security and Events Services.

Workplace Health and Safety Office

The Health and Safety Office is a part of the Physical Plant Department and consists of the Health and Safety Officer. The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for filing WCB claims, investigating accidents, security cameras and security card access. Responsibilities also include WHMIS training, MSDS maintenance, and ensuring Brandon University is in compliance with all aspects of the Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety Act. The Health and Safety Officer can be contacted at 727-7389, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Security can be contacted at 727-9700.
