Admission Requirements

Graduate admission requirements vary by program. Consult the Graduate Studies website, Departmental websites (links directly below) and the current online Graduate Calendar for additional information about application materials and fees, as well as specific program requirements. Graduate programs are available in Education, Music, Science and Rural Development.

Once you have submitted your application to Brandon University, we will email you a document request.  This will include official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, English Proficiency as applicable, and other documents as required by program.

Please be aware of the application deadlines as they vary for each graduate program.

Please note: All documents submitted become the property of Brandon University.

Official Transcripts

If you have already obtained a university degree and are planning to pursue a graduate degree, send an official transcript showing coursework and conferral of degree directly from the institution, as well as transcripts showing all coursework completed from any other post-secondary institution(s) attended. For some programs, an interim transcript is acceptable if the program of study is close to completion, and then a final transcript showing evidence of degree will be required after completion of the program.

International applicants must submit official transcripts directly from the degree granting institution, Examination Authority or from the applicant providing the transcript remains in the sealed envelope from the institution. Transcripts not in English must be translated by a certified translator along with a note indicating they received documents in a sealed envelope. The original official transcript and the translation must be sent to the Admissions Office directly from the translator.

We also accept World Education Services (WES) credential evaluation reports, directly from WES.

English Proficiency Requirement

All applicants regardless of citizenship status or country of origin are required to demonstrate English language proficiency to be considered for admission. There are eleven ways meet Brandon University’s approved English language proficiency requirement. If you are required to provide proof of English language proficiency to complete your application, you will receive an email from the Admissions Office.

If requested, English language proficiency test scores must come directly from the testing centre in a sealed envelope, except TOEFL which may also be sent electronically directly through TOEFL (ETS) if preferred.
