Orientation Committee

Meeting Minutes for Event/Entertainment Planning

May 19, 2010, 10:00 am
Room 105, A. E. McKenzie Building

In Attendance:
Laura Balanko (BUSU), Jade Visser (BUSU), David Rowland, Suzanne Letain

The Orientation events and entertainment are again being planned in conjunction with BUSU.  BUSU will be hosting the events during Orientation.

Events/games planned

• BU Has Talent Night
• Casino Night & Social
• Screen on the Green (movie) Night
• WII Tournament
• Club Day & BBQ
• Amazing Race
• Egg Drop
• Carnival Day – tickets will be sold for the booths (ie. 2 tickets for Dunk the Dean) – carnival style prizes will be given to winners.
• Trike Races – have the Bobcat basketball teams against the volleyball teams.  Encourage supporting the Bobcats, see/meet the players.
• Rock the Block – possibly a 2 day event.
• Hypnotist
• Drum Cafe – will perform at Launch.

Other

• BUSU will be creating a newletter to be mailed out during the summer.
• Games and events will be spaced between September 7-17th.
• Nothing will be booked on weekends.
• One event per day.
• We will not do wristbands this year.  Events will be free and open to all students.
• Hope to tag the song chosen for Orientation to the Launch ceremony.
• BUSU will again create advertising posters for the events.
