Become a Student Leader
Current students have a role to play in BU’s annual orientation event because you’re the ones new students need and want to hear from.
Join a team of enthusiastic people like yourself who will lead small groups of new students through an orientation to Brandon University. Orientation will be a great leadership experience for you. You will be able to say that you have learned and put into practice real leadership skills.
We’ll supply you with a leader shirt and give-aways. Best of all, you will be able to add your leadership training and experience to your resumé and back it up with formal documentation from Brandon University.
You won’t be thrown in cold. We will provide you with appropriate training that will help you plan, and successfully take, students through orientation to Brandon University.
Note: Not everyone can be a student leader. You will need to have completed one year by the time you lead a group of new students. You will also need to commit to being here on the training date you choose and the Final Details meeting Wednesday, August 28, 2013 (location TBA). You will be contacted in August with a location and time.
Reference Letters will be available by the end of October and held for pick-up at Room 102, A. E. McKenzie Building. If the letter is not picked up by the end of November it will be mailed to the address you provided on your student leader application form. We will not reproduce these letters if they are lost by you or not delivered by the mail system, so please make sure you provide an accurate mailing address.
Whether you are a new leader applicant or a returning leader, you MUST complete an application form!
Please complete the entire application in full (ie. contact info, postal code, phone number, email) or the application will be returned to you.
If you want more information or have some suggestions to make this event even better, please contact Alex Braun, 204-571-8539.
