International Comparative Rural Policies Studies Program (ICRPS)

The ICRPS program aims to create a high-level, international, inter-disciplinary, and research-based learning environment for future leaders in rural policy development, research, teaching, and practice. The program provides a post-graduate program in comparative rural policy studies at post-secondary educational institutions in North America and the European Union.

ICRPS hosts an intensive two-week summer program attended by graduate students, faculty, and policy analysts. On average, 24 students and 15 faculty members participate each year. Over the last 15 years, six Brandon University faculty members and sixteen Brandon University Masters students have participated in ICRPS Summer Institutes. Eight of those Masters students have attended two concurrent years. Brandon University hosted the ICRPS Summer Institute in 2006 and will do so again in 2020.

The 2019 Summer Institute will be hosted by the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland from June 16-29, 2019.
