One of RDI’s functions is disseminating research findings and applied research practices to policy-makers, researchers, rural communities, students, practitioners. Published research reports, working documents, tools for communities are available electronically and in print.

In 2006, RDI launched the online, open access Journal of Rural and Community Development (JRCD) providing a venue through which academics can publish findings in the field of development studies in either or both rural and community contexts.
