Aboriginal Floor: Awe Nindawiin Ajina
Awe Nindawiin Ajina means “home-for awhile” in Ojibwe, and that’s what we’ve created for the Indigenous people who live in Residence while studying at Brandon University.
The Residence Hall Programs Office, The Indigenous Peoples’ Centre and the Brandon University Aboriginal Student Council have created a unique partnership to provide an
environment that provides academic, social, and healthy lifestyle support while providing a sense of “home”.
Located in McMaster Hall, Nindawiin provides a sense of community for students who need to be away from home for awhile. On our Awe Nindawiin Ajina floor, First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students experience community through recreation and sport, tutoring and mentorship, social and cultural opportunities, and shared living and learning experiences.
