Brandon University Internet Service

Improved Internet Service: DOUBLE THE BANDWIDTH: TWICE AS FAST AS BEFORE on our dedicated residence internet feed.

Our new and expanded internet service is intended to provide residents with a high quality service for web browsing, emailing, and chatting. Our internet service is NOT meant to support downloading of large files such as audio or video files, pornography; the access of illegal sites; nor file-sharing in general. Such activity negatively impacts the rest of the system, and therefore will not be tolerated: residents found to be downloading or uploading large amounts of data will be disconnected from our internet service for the remainder of the academic year with no refund of advance payments. Please see Residence Office staff to sign up for service.

Eight month contract (September/12-April/13)

• $320.00, plus PST ($22.40) and GST ($16.00) = $358.40

Per term contract (September/12-December/12 or January/13-April/13)

• $160.00, plus PST ($11.20) and GST ($8.00) = $179.20

Telephone Services

The Residence Management encourages all students to install a telephone in their room. The residences are not equipped with any kind of an inter-communication system and therefore it is not easy to relay messages. Rooms in all three residences are equipped with phone jacks and students who wish to have a phone should obtain one from the MTS Connect store at the Brandon Shoppers Mall (south of the university on 18th Street) or at the Corral Centre (north of the university on 18th Street), or students may call 225-5687 (CALL MTS) to arrange for service. Darrach and Flora Cowan Halls are jacked for desk sets, McMaster Hall for wall phones. Please make sure you give the phone company your box number: the University will not be responsible for delays in receipt of bills which have been improperly addressed.

Note: You must bring three pieces of identification to the phone centre.
