Human Landscape Series
Message from Doug Ramsey, Series Editor
Greetings! After five years co-editing the series with Dr. John Everitt, who is now retired and living in the British Virgin Islands, I look forward to taking on the role of editor of the “Canadian Human Landscape Examples” Series of The Canadian Geographer. My goal is to follow through on the plan that John and I developed to shift the Series from urban to human landscapes. Dr. Roger Hayter has been supportive of this direction and I look forward to working with the incoming editor, Dr. Ian MacLachlan, on this initiative to ensure that the series continues its success in providing a publishing medium to those interested in researching landscapes in Canada.
Since the series was created in 1991, 27 papers have been published. The following is a breakdown of when and where:

Following an initial spate of publications in the early 1990s, the series has settled down to usually one or two per year. However, many urban centres (and regions) are not represented, three provinces are not represented at all, and there is great potential to document, more broadly, changing human landscapes across Canada.
Please click on the “past publications” page to get an idea of what has been published in the past. We feel that the series so far, 27 papers in total, represents a rich information source for those teaching courses in urban/settlement geography, regional geography of Canada, and other related courses.
Thank-you for viewing these pages. I look forwarded to hearing from those who are interested in submitting a manuscript for peer review.
Sincerely,
Doug Ramsey, Associate Professor
