How to Apply
Instructions and Tips for Applying
To create a new Online Scholarship Application, log in to your Online Student Information screen, then select the “Apply for Scholarships & Bursaries” tab. Begin by clicking the “Add Award” button, which will take you to the Searchable Scholarship Database. From there, search for the awards you wish to apply for, and select the “Apply Now” button for your first award. For each award, you must then select the “Add Award” button again and apply for each award you wish to be considered for in the same manner.
*TIP* Prior to beginning your application, you may wish to browse the complete list of awards with a pen and paper nearby, paying particular attention to the Details column to see which awards you might qualify for. Make note of these awards and return to the online application once you’ve gone through the list. You may also want to note which awards require supporting documentation, as the application system will request these documents near the end of the online application process. More details are available at the bottom of this page.
To Complete your Application
Once you’ve selected all of the awards you wish to be considered for, click the “Submit Application” button. This will then take you to the personal information page of the application. Fill out all of the available fields from beginning to end. Should you miss any pertinent fields, the system will alert you to complete the required fields. Once you’ve checked the “agree” box at the end, select submit.
Edit an Existing Application
To edit an existing application, log in to your Online Student Information screen and click the “Edit Existing Application” button. You may then make changes to your previous application.
Additional Tips
- Set aside some time to peruse the awards and to complete the application process. This process will potentially provide the greatest financial return of your time – second to earning your degree!
- Supporting documents may be attached to the Online Application; however, it is also acceptable to mail these documents directly to the Scholarships and Awards Clerk, or to send them by e-mail to scholarships@brandonu.ca.
- Where references are required, make note of the type of reference that is expected for the award. A reference regarding employment, volunteer work, or other community involvement provides a stronger case for your qualifications than a self-provided resume or list of activities.
- If you are unsure of how to apply, which awards to apply for, or what documentation to provide, do not hesitate to call the Scholarships and Awards office at (204) 727-9737, or e-mail scholarships@brandonu.ca.
