This Convocation takes place Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 and includes all graduates from October 2011, March 2012 and June 2012.

** Please note: Students need to arrive in the Grand Salon located in the basement of the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium ONE HOUR prior to the start time.

There will be free parking on campus and in the vicinity of the auditorium on grad day.

Rehearsal

Thursday May 31, 2012 @1:30 pm – in the Grand Salon, located in the basement of the WMCA. Students are not required to attend but it is encouraged.

Graduation Attire

Picking Up
Graduation attire will be available for pickup beginning on Monday May 28, 2012. Attire will be in Room 005, Lower Level, McKenzie Building from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday June 2 from 8:30 am to 1:30 p.m.
**Please remember to pick up your tickets at the same time.

Returning
Immediately following the ceremony you must return your graduation attire to the check room area in the main foyer of the WMCA. Gowns are rentals and must be packed up and returned immediately after ceremonies.

What can I bring/carry?
Flowers may not be carried across the stage. Corsages however, may be worn. No provisions are made to hold purses, cameras or any other valuables for grads during the ceremonies.

Tickets and Seating

Only those grads that are attending Convocation will receive tickets for your guests. Due to the large number of graduates attending the Friday a.m. ceremony, students will receive three (3), tickets, Friday p.m. students will receive four (4) tickets, Saturday a.m. students will receive (4) tickets, and Saturday p.m. students will receive four (4) tickets. These can be picked up at the same time as you receive your grad attire. Additional guests will be seated on a RUSH seating basis. A large screen closed circuit television and chairs will be located in the front foyer for additional seating.

Degree Parchments

If you are a June graduate and you do not attend the convocation ceremony, your degree will be available for pick up at the Senate office (room 119 McKenzie) beginning on Monday June 11, 2012. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – Noon and 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. We will hold all diplomas until the end of June and then mail them out. If you are unable to pick up your degree and would like it mailed prior to the end of June (but not before June 11th) please contact Kim at 204.727.9751 or fallis@brandonu.ca.

If you are an October 2011 or March 2012 graduate: As you have already received your degree parchment, you will receive a folder with a congratulatory letter as you cross the stage.

Degree Frames

The Alumni Association will be set up in the front foyer of the WMCA if you wish to purchase a degree frame. If you would like to purchase a frame at any time you may contact the Alumni Association at 204.727.9697 or at alumni@brandonu.ca

Transcripts

It is your responsibility to order official transcripts. If you order transcripts prior to convocation, please ensure that you ask Financial & Registration Services to mail your transcripts AFTER convocation.

Important Notice

If you owe ANY monies to Brandon University you will not receive your degree parchments or transcripts until your account is paid in full.
