Nominator’s Comments:
Emiliya enrolled at BU in September 2009, after arriving in Canada from the Russian Federation, and is currently studying toward a Chemistry undergraduate degree, with a minor in Biology. During her time at BU she has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a GPA of 4.2 in Chemistry. As a result of this she was placed on the University honours list at the end of her first academic year, and received the Dr. N. Demchuk memorial scholarship in General Chemistry, awarded for the highest achievement by a female student in General Chemistry I and II. Emiliya has been active in the Chemistry department and currently runs the tutorial sessions for first year students. Emiliya’s achievements are particularly notable given that English is not her native tongue.
