Services for Faculty

In-class Assistance

The Learning Skills specialist can deliver in-class presentations ranging from a brief introduction of the Academic Skills Centre to a class customized to meet the need of faculty members. Learning skills sessions can help the class learn multiple-choice strategies for an upcoming test, demonstrate online textbook resources for more targeted studying, or review note-taking in lectures. Consider a learning skills presentation rather than cancelling a class if you need to be away for a conference!

Outside of class time Assistance

Learning skills workshops cover some of the skills necessary for university success, and are offered in various time slots throughout the week to accommodate students’ schedules. In cooperation with departments and faculty, learning skills sessions can be customized to meet the needs of a particular course, or with examples from the course textbook or lecture material.
