What to Study in the Faculty of Arts<\/h2>\n

The Faculty of Arts offers four-year honours, four-year combined honours, four-year major, and three-year major degrees. We recommend four-year degrees because their value is familiar and recognized across the country as well as internationally, and these degrees are required for admittance to most programs of further study, such as a Master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n

The Faculty of Arts is home to 13 departments and 2 programs. You can study Anthropology, Business Administration, Drama, Economics, English & Creative Writing, Gender & Women\u2019s Studies, History, Languages, Native Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Rural Development, Sociology, or Visual and Indigenous Art. We also offer Bachelor of Business Administration degrees as well as Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees; in Fine Arts you can major in Indigenous Art, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, or Digital and Media Design. You might take advantage of our newest degrees in Public History, following the History Intensive Stream or the Media Arts Stream. You might choose to concentrate on Canadian Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Music (Arts) or pursue a certificate in Justice Studies. You might explore multiple areas of self-expression with a degree in Creative Arts, or you could choose to do a Liberal Arts Distributed Major so that you can go on to Education to become an early or middle-years teacher. You can also get Bachelor of Arts degrees (or Bachelor of Science degrees) in Psychology, Geography, and Applied Disaster & Emergency Studies. The choices are many, so if you want some assistance to focus your studies, please contact a student advisor in Student Services<\/a>, the Department Chair of the discipline that you find appealing, or the Dean of Arts. The Faculty of Arts at Brandon University also offers the opportunity to pursue a degree at the master\u2019s level with the Master\u2019s in Rural Development (MRD) as well as the Graduate Diploma in Rural Development.
