Schedule 10: The Formal Front Plaza<\/p><\/div>\n

The formal front plaza represents the front forecourt\u00a0for the original buildings. Though it was originally\u00a0designed as a grand landscape and formal entrance into\u00a0the Campus, it lost its stature and formality over time\u00a0with the overgrowth of its surrounding tree canopies.\u00a0The open space has also given way to the predominance\u00a0of drop-off and parking as the primary function. In\u00a0response, the Plan aims to restore this open space as the\u00a0formal heritage front door to Brandon University. Design\u00a0recommendations focus on celebrating this space and\u00a0positioning it as a more usable, pedestrian-oriented urban\u00a0plaza. The Plan considers this space to have opportunities\u00a0for art and attractive garden-style landscaping as a draw\u00a0into the Campus and to build its identity. It is envisioned\u00a0to function as the formal heritage front door to the\u00a0Campus.<\/p>\n
