{"id":664,"date":"2017-08-11T22:55:15","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T22:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/campusplan\/?page_id=664"},"modified":"2017-08-11T22:55:15","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T22:55:15","slug":"development-phasing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/campusplan\/implementation\/development-phasing\/","title":{"rendered":"Development Phasing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Campus Master Plan reflects the recommended\u00a0long-term development of Brandon University\u2019s Main\u00a0Campus, and improves buildings and open spaces in an\u00a0ongoing and simultaneous approach that is in keeping\u00a0with the Vision and Guiding Principles. Early initiatives\u00a0of the Plan can be implemented over the near-term\u00a0and should be prioritized according to the University\u2019s\u00a0strategic objectives. These initiatives can include \u201clowhanging\u00a0fruit\u201d or \u201cquick wins,\u201d which are generally cost-efficient\u00a0projects that can start soon after the Plan is\u00a0approved and assist in continuing the positive momentum\u00a0generated for the Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Phase One initiatives may happen over a five to ten year\u00a0period, which may entail greater capital or partnerships\u00a0to fund the projects. The focus of development should\u00a0be a response to creating more efficient use of space\u00a0or the re-purposing of existing buildings as directed\u00a0by the Campus Space Planning Study, as well as the\u00a0enhancement and re-purposing of existing open spaces.\u00a0No new building development would be anticipated\u00a0in the early phases of development. That said, it does\u00a0not negate development should the demand arise for\u00a0a specific use, such as the need for a new residential\u00a0building on campus or the need for a new gateway\u00a0building along Victoria Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>In the mid ten to twenty year time frame, development\u00a0should continue to evolve in a compact manner, adding\u00a0on to existing buildings where recommended in the Plan,\u00a0and creating new interior and exterior adjacent open\u00a0spaces.
