Job Duties/Competencies:

• Overall administrative, financial and program management of the department;

• Create regular briefing notes on the progress of the department;

• Ensure regular monitoring and reporting as per contract/contribution agreements;

• Implement and monitor a consistent procedure for office administration and records management;

• Direct and ensure proper coordination of all administrative affairs;

• Assist with the development of a costed work plan that will be evaluated and adjusted yearly, and in identifying possible funding sources for the department;

• Assist with preparing and presenting an annual budget and monthly forecast for the operation of the department for approval.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field of study;

• Previous experience in a leadership role with emphasis in management and financial practices;

• Demonstrated organizational, financial, administrative management skills;

• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff;

• Demonstrated ability to prepare budgets and read, financial statements;

• Proficient in proposal preparation;

• Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;

• Knowledge of Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,

• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
