The Faculty of Education, Western University, invites applications for two full-time appointments in Curriculum Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track), Associate Professor (tenure track or tenured) or Professor (tenured) depending on qualifications and extent of research accomplishment. The effective date of the appointments will be on or after January 1, 2021.

Applicants must have:

• a Ph.D. in Education (Curriculum Studies or equivalent) with a focus in Curriculum;
• relevant experience in ECE, K-12 Education, Tertiary Education, and/or other education settings;
• a strong track record of relevant publications;
• a record of, or demonstrable potential for attaining Tri-Council funding;
• demonstrated excellence in curricular, practice/field-based research in two or more of the following areas: Arts; Early Childhood Education; Literacies; Making; Mathematics; Science; Technology (including coding).

In addition, priority may be given to selecting two scholars:

• who work in different combinations of the above-listed education areas;
• whose work aligns with Western’s priorities of: digital revolution; innovative methodological approaches or ways to strengthen existing methodological expertise; experiential learning;
• demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain contacts with educational agencies;
• actively participated in professional organizations related to curriculum;
• demonstrated competence in scholarly and/or creative activities;
• demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student populations.

The successful applicants will become members of the Curriculum Studies and Studies in Applied Linguistics Academic Research Cluster, bring relevant academic strength and collaborative abilities to the Faculty and will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the curriculum-related programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching duties will include the development and delivery of curriculum-related courses within a combination of courses in the teacher education program, professional graduate programs, and research-intensive graduate programs as well as graduate student supervision.

The successful applicants will also maintain an active research program that is focused on Curriculum Studies. Salary will be  commensurate with qualifications and experience.
