The Faculty of Education, Western University, invites applications for one full-time Limited-Term appointment in the Arts at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date of the appointment is January 1, 2021, or an earlier date may be negotiated. This is a one-year appointment with a possibility of renewal.

Applicants must have:

• a Ph.D. in Education (or equivalent) with a preferred focus on Music and the performing arts;
• relevant experience in ECE, K-12 Education, Tertiary Education, and/or other education settings;
• a strong track record of relevant publications;
• demonstrated excellence in curricular, practice/field-based experience in Music (Vocal and/Instrumental) and/or performing arts.

The successful applicant will work entirely within the Teacher Education program and will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of music and arts related programs at the undergraduate. We have a very close working relationship with the Faculty of Music, and collaborate on programming. Teaching duties will include the development and delivery of relevant courses in the teacher education program, the operation of an annual musical/theatre production and fulfill scholarship expectations defined with the Teacher Education office.
