Position Overview:
Jewish Child and Family Service (JCFS) is a Winnipeg-based, multifaceted, non-profit social service
agency established to provide services and supports that assist individuals, couples, and families
across the life-span.
JCFS is seeking a Counsellor to provide direct clinical counselling services to individuals, and/or
families in need of counselling/therapy to address a variety of concerns such as: depression, anxiety,
interpersonal skills, workplace challenges, relationship issues, stress management, addictions, etc.
The successful candidate will have:
• Excellent clinical counselling skills
• Good knowledge of community resources
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with individuals or couples
• Can work independently and develop and sustain relationships with a broad range of clients
• Experience working with children/play therapy an asset
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
• Certification with a recognized counselling association in Canada
• Carry your own Liability Insurance
• Five years post-graduate counselling experience
• Adherence to professional standards and best practices
• Engage in clinical consultation with the clinical supervisor, as required
• Flexible availability both daytime and evenings
