Director of Finance

Under the general direction of the City Manager, the Director of Finance is the City’s senior finance professional and is responsible for all aspects of corporate financial management including budget development, advanced accounting functions, financial reporting, revenue collection, procurement, disbursements, investments, banking and policy development, as well as managing the Finance Department. The Finance Department endorses the Lean philosophy and requires all positions to incorporate and promote the process within their functions and duties.  

MANDATORY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma;
• CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) designation, or equivalent.

PREFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five (5) years experience in a progressive leadership position;
• Minimum five (5) years experience in a senior financial role within Municipal government;
• Experience working with collective agreements is an asset;
• Experience working with corporate policies is an asset.
