Economic Development Officer

The Assiniboine Valley Regional CDC is seeking a Full-time Economic Development Officer who will report to the AVRCDC Board of Directors and is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and implementing economic development policies, strategies and initiatives that improve the community, socioeconomic development of the AVRCDC region.

Key Responsibilities include;

• Implementing Economic Development Strategic Action Plan
• Assisting with research, development and submission proposals, reports, applications and correspondence in developing community economic development initiatives
• Liaising with municipal councils, community organizations, the business community and provincial government

Candidates must possess;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in MS and the knowledge in electronic tools and social media
• A degree or diploma in business, commerce, rural development, economics or public administration is preferable, relevant work experience will be considered
• Experience working with government, business and volunteers in business and community development activities
• Proficient in Web Management and Social Media .
