Tundra is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator based out of our Virden, MB office.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources some specific duties and responsibilities of the HR Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to management pertaining to all aspects of recruitment and selection, new hire orientation, legislative compliance, policies administration, and training and development.
  • Assist in the recruitment process including: managing the career applications, preparation of job postings, advertising (internal and external), scheduling interviews, assist with pre-screening interviews, interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, assist with the regret process, preparation of employment offers, etc.
  • Assist with conducting the employee orientations, as required to support the HR Generalist and HR Assistant.
  • Assist in participating with a variety of career fairs to promote Tundra’s business, attract and recruit potential candidates.
  • In conjunction with the HR Assistant, provide support with the HR internal process reports (e.g. new hires checklist, termination checklist, Promotions/Transfers/ Changes checklist; Master Position List; recruitment reports; exit interviews; course evaluations; professional development, training, etc.).
  • Provide assistance, in conjunction with the HR Assistant role, to support the HR Generalist.
  • Manage the monthly probationary review process for all locations, utilizing automated tracking process in WorkForce Now (WFN).
  • Assist with the development and administration of policies and procedures per Tundra’s requirements and in conjunction with the Employment Standards.
  • Conduct research and provide analysis in a variety of HR disciplines as required by the Director of Human Resources.
  • Assist with creating annual FAQ’s and Learning Sessions for employees on relevant topics. Present learning sessions to employees as required.
  • Preparation of a variety of employee correspondence.
  • Assist with maintaining routine HR reports, quarterly reports (e.g. overtime, banked time, etc.), as well as any HR or other related ad hoc reports.
  • Manage the quarterly HR Bulletin newsletter publication and distribution.
  • Provide inter-departmental HR support to other HR team members as required.
  • Other related HR duties as required.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Human Resources Diploma, Business diploma, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years Human Resources experience, particularly with recruitment & selection, is required.
  • Prior oil and gas production and exploration knowledge and experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
  • Prior HRIS experience is preferred. We currently utilize ADP’s Workforce Now.
  • Results focused with ability to work independently and productively under time pressures.
  • A high level of self-motivation, initiative, team collaboration, along with the desire to continually improve.
  • Excellent customer service abilities; sensitivity to customer issues and understanding the importance of diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem solving and judgment skills. Superior listening and interpretative skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent relationship building and relationship management skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion is required.
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities ensuring all deadlines are met accordingly
  • Possess attributes such as maturity and judgment, accepts responsibility and accountability, and common sense.
  • Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra’s Safety Policy.
