As a member of Imperial’s Indigenous collaboration team, you will receive broad exposure to all segments of an integrated oil and gas company. You will work with a team of specialists supporting the implementation of the company’s Indigenous relations strategy. Under the direction of senior specialists, you will provide support to community relations, consultation, business development and workforce development initiatives. You will be involved in a wide range of projects and activities for a number for internal client groups including: oil sands development, refining operations, community investment, Indigenous collaboration and various corporate functions.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development of community relations plans and communication tactics.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community meetings, events and open houses.
  • Participate in the tracking and stewardship of various data and key performance metrics.
  • Assist in the implementation of Imperial’s reconciliation efforts.
  • Provide support to ongoing Indigenous collaboration initiatives.

Academic Qualifications:

  • 3rd or 4th year university students pursuing a Bachelor of Business, Public Relations, Social Science or related degree with Indigenous content planning to return to school after their work term.
  • 2nd year college students pursuing a Diploma in Business, Public Relations, Social Science or related program with Indigenous content.

  • Effectively manages time to meet deadlines.
  • Works independently, but knows when to ask for guidance.
  • Understands community relations function and processes.
  • Understands event planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Start date: May 4, 2020

Work term: 4 months.

Location: Calgary, AB.
