Duties:
Reporting to the Chair of Civil Engineering Technology, the Instructor will deliver courses in the Civil Engineering Technology family of programs. Duties will include: course preparation, delivery, and student evaluation, the development and maintenance of course outlines, lesson plans, assignments, tests and examinations, and student records. The successful candidate will also participate in department and college committees, assist in department and college activities, develop/modify curriculum to reflect current industry needs.
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in Civil Engineering; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- Significant demonstrated industry experience in the Civil Engineering field of heavy construction
- Work experience in one or more of the following: project management, contract administration, and/or material estimation of civil construction projects
- Working knowledge of the current TAC - Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Commitment to lifelong learning
Assets:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Experience in civil engineering applied research
- Professional Designation: P. Eng. or C.E.T.
- Certificate in Adult Education
- Active membership in a local professional association
- ACI Certified Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 Certification
- Experience with online instruction and learning
- Ability to work remotely

- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Instructors are required to complete a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
