TEACH ESL IN SOUTH KOREA

Canadian Connection is a Toronto based consulting agency that recruits for ESL positions in South Korea. Started by a former ESL teacher with more than 17 years of Korean experience, we are dedicated to making the decision to teach in ‘the land of the morning calm’ a positive transition. We offer one year contracts with option to renew, free housing, airfare, and a competitive salary. Placements include elementary, junior high, and high schools, as well as private institutes. Various locations throughout the country are available, from very small, rural towns to large metropolitan cities.

Position Title: ESL Teacher in South Korea

Type of Work: Teaching/Teacher, ESL, TESOL/TEFL,

Description/Job Condition: Applicants will be responsible for instructing Korean students in areas of conversation, reading,  writing and listening. Class hours per week range from 20-30 hours and teachers will often be responsible for assisting or creating the curriculum.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00

Classroom Hours: 20-30 teaching hours per week.

Vacation: 2-4 weeks + national holidays

Salary: 2,000,000 to 2,500,000 KRW per month

Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won

Severance Bonus: 1 month salary

School Type: Private Institutes and Public schools (Elementary, Junior High, and High School positions)

Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.

Airfare: free roundtrip supplied for public schools, one way airfare supplied for private institutes

Start dates: February, April, August, and October

Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew

Requirements: Minimum requirement is a completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University but applicants may submit an application anytime during their graduating year. However, those applicants not having majored in Education may be required to complete a 100 hour TESL (Teaching English as a second language) certificate prior to departure.
