Duties:

The Manager, Inventory and Logistics oversees the operational requirements related to the acquisition, receipt, storage and distribution of materials required to support the needs of staff and students at the College, including managing Logistics staff, leading interdepartmental workgroups and performing procurement activities such as establishing vendor partnerships, preparing and evaluating tenders/ quotations, vendor negotiations and vendor performance management. This position is also responsible for the development, support and implementation of efficient and effective materials management operating procedures, policies and practices to support the strategic goals of the College.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related field or completion of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation Program or equivalent education and experience
  • Significant management experience in procurement, inventory control, supply distribution and warehousing
  • Experience in leading and managing teams with the ability to mentor, coach and develop others
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor performance
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead groups into achieving consensus
  • Experience using supply chain management software applications
  • Experience using business software particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Strong commitment to quality and customer focused service

Assets:

  • Experience with implementation, configuration, operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supply chain management software applications
  • Knowledge of Change Management principles
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles, such as LEAN Management or Six Sigma Principles
  • Experience working in a post secondary or public sector environment
