The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) is the official democratic and self-governing representative for the Metis Nation’s Manitoba Metis Community. The Manitoba Metis are Canada’s Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Regional Registry Coordinator position within our Central Registry Office located at 150 Henry Ave in Winnipeg, MB. Under the direction of the CRO Director, the Regional Registry Coordinator will be responsible to field citizenship and harvester application questions and inquiries from the Regional Registry Clerks in the 7 MMF Regional Offices and satellite offices.

Job Duties/Competencies:

  • Work as a central point of contact for MMF Regional Registry Clerks and applicable Regional staff across Manitoba;
  • Answer general inquiries and specific questions from Regional Registry Clerks regarding Citizenship and Harvester applications and inquiries;
  • Assist with the development of staff training sessions and provide training and guidance to Regional Registry Clerks, as needed;
  • Assist with developing policies and procedures for Regional coordination on Citizenship and Harvesting;
  • Ensure Regional Registry Clerks are conducting regular file processing activities and follow up with them as required;
  • Travel to Regional offices throughout the year to conduct check-in meetings, training sessions, etc.;
  • Travel with the Mobile Citizenship Office, as needed, to ensure Regional coordination;
  • Answer specific questions from applicants, Locals or regions regarding any part of the application form, and/or the MMF Registration or Metis Harvesting Initiative, as required;
  • Communicate with applicants regarding the citizenship and Harvester initiative.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant education in the field of Management, Social Services or another applicable field preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an office environment; preference given to those with experience working with multiple people including the general public;
  • Demonstrated ability to use judgement and initiative in dealing with colleagues and the general public;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
  • Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Metis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset;
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
