The Rural Development Institute with Endow Manitoba, proudly supported by Mitacs through the Mitacs Accelerate program, is embarking upon a year-long research project aiming to understand and enhance the social and economic impact of Community Foundations (CFs) in Manitoba over the short-, medium- and long-term.

Hours of Work: 28 Hours per Week on average

Length of Appointment: up to 52 weeks

Duties:

The Assistant to the Project Lead will:

  • participate in the preparation of select project deliverables
  • analyze findings, design key features to identify multiple frameworks
  • contribute to the development and validation of prototypes
  • participate in literature review preparation
  • participate in preparing policy briefs, design briefs, collaborative presentations, and a manuscript

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate must:

  • be a full-time graduate student, or a senior full-time undergraduate student at Brandon University, with a strong academic standing (a minimum of 3.0 G.P.A.)
  • demonstrate how this research complements their area of study
  • have extensive advanced research skills and sound judgment; working in community-based research is an asset

The successful candidate will also have:

  • the ability to communicate clearly and effectively; strong written communication skills are especially important
  • strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated.
  • the ability to work independently and with others effectively.
  • the ability to uphold high standards of confidentiality and research integrity.
