Description

Open Minds, Open Hearts (OMOH) is a two-year project which aims to create awareness and reduce the stigma of dementia by fostering social cohesion and a sense of belonging among college students, people living with dementia (PLWD) and their care partners. This project is a collaboration between three colleges across Canada, including the College of New Caledonia in British Columbia, École nationale de cirque (National Circus School) in Quebec, and Conestoga College in Ontario.

OMOH will consist of student-led programs hosted by each college. People living with dementia and their caregivers will participate in weekly engagement sessions led by students. These intergenerational group activities will highlight various subjects including culinary arts, celebrating culture, languages and the arts, exploring nature, and promoting physical well-being.
