Brandon University Convocation is a special and dignified occasion that marks the formal recognition of your hard work and accomplishment. Be proud! The video ceremonies above include all the traditional elements of Convocation, which will be presented via online video. We will present awards and honorary degrees, we will hear wisdom and guidance from dignitaries, we will celebrate valedictorians, we will officially confer your degrees, and we will name each graduating student individually in a virtual procession.

Valedictorians

Valedictorians, who are chosen for their academic excellence as well as their overall contributions to campus and community, bring greetings to their fellow graduates as well as a hopeful outlook at the future they will all share along with their brand-new knowledge and credentials.

Parchment “Plus” Packages

We will be mailing your degree parchment to you the week after Convocation. That package will also contain a few small treats from us to you in acknowledgement of the challenging, unpredictable circumstances you worked through during the last year of your studies.

If you graduated in October 2020 or February 2021, you already have your degree parchment, but we will be sending you the extras as well, so keep an eye on your postal mailbox in mid-June!

Alumni membership

As a graduate of Brandon University, you are automatically a member of the BU Alumni Association, and will be entitled to all its benefits. These include events, a complimentary subscription to our university magazine Clark, and access to the BU Café networking and mentorship site.

Future options

We know that celebrating your graduation remotely is not what any of us hoped for, and we recognize that the public acknowledgement of your achievement in the presence of family and friends is an important part of Convocation. Given that the pandemic has prevented us from gathering with you and your closest people, we will offer you the opportunity to join us at a future in-person Convocation, when conditions allow. Keep your address up to date with us so that we can send information and an invitation when the time comes!
