{"id":2272,"date":"2023-08-14T15:07:07","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T20:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/ctlt\/?page_id=2272"},"modified":"2024-08-19T10:48:15","modified_gmt":"2024-08-19T15:48:15","slug":"teaching-enhancement-conversations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/ctlt\/teaching-enhancement-conversations\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching Enhancement Conversations"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Wednesday August 28, 2024<\/li>\n<li>Rowe Theatre (Top floor Education Building)<\/li>\n<li>9:00 am to 12:00 pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"flex-row \" data-column-group=\"1\">\n<div class=\"new-column-box  no-bg full count-1\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"#register\" class=\"btn\" style=\"font-size: 1.5em;\">Register Now<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><!-- .new-column-box -->\n<\/div><!-- .flex-row -->\n<p>The CTLT committee (representative faculty, academic staff and students chosen to serve) have set a focus for this year\u2019s 14th\u00a0annual TEC.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of this year&#8217;s all-faculty, some students, breakout conversations will be on the future of teaching and learning at university.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the morning, 4 different rooms will host 4 different discussions, led by those experienced with trying to answer these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In which ways that affect teaching do today\u2019s students differ from when we started teaching?<\/li>\n<li>How might BU classrooms be more useful to teaching my subjects?<\/li>\n<li>What technologies have we found most useful in our teaching?<\/li>\n<li>What role might Artificial Intelligence play in easing my teaching workload?<\/li>\n<li>What role will AI play in my field of research?<\/li>\n<li>How do current BU students use AI in their lives?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As registrant, you\u2019ll have the chance to help shape all 4 conversations, or stick with the ones that most intrigue you. Each conversation, with suggestions for best ways to proceed this fall, will be summarized in a final plenary. Capped at 100, registration closes end of day Monday, August 26th. Final details will be sent to registrants Monday, August 26th.<\/p>\n<p>Though not as good as being there, we are working on a remote option-so if you are interested, but working at Winnipeg
