30.334 Twentieth-Century American Literature

A study of American modernism and postmodernism. Writers to be considered may include Baraka, Brooks, Cisneros, Cummings, DeLillo, Dos Passos, Eliot, Ellison, Fitzgerald, H.D., Hemingway, Hong Kingston, Hurston, Hughes, Momaday, Morrison, Plath, Pound, Pynchon, Rich, Sexton, Silko, Stevens, Toomer, West, and Williams.

3 lecture hours per week, both terms.
Prerequisite: 6 credit hours in first-year English literature or permission of Instructor.
