30.355 Creative Writing: The Short Story Sequence

This course examines the form of the short story sequence in works written mainly in the twentieth century. Students will be required to write a sequence of 4-5 short stories related by subject, character, perspective, or place, for example. We will explore a diverse range of linked short story collections by Canadian, American, and other international writers. The course includes weekly workshops and seminars, along with in-class writing exercises and an end-of-term reading.

3 lecture hours per week, one term.

Prerequisite: Nil.
