An historical and developmental survey of the British novel in the twentieth century. Novelists to be considered may include Barnes, Byatt, Conrad, Forster, Lawrence, Lessing, Murdoch, Spark, Winterson, and Woolf.

Prerequisite: 6 credit hours in first-year English literature (ENGL) or permission of Instructor.
