Brandon University Celebrates Women’s History Month

October 26 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Event Navigation

The Status of Women Canada theme for Women’s History Month is “MAKE YOUR MARK”, in recognition of all of the women who have, and are still, harnessing their power and voice to claim their place in our society.

Brandon University’s Status of Women Review Committee (SWRC) is sponsoring a celebration of the personal and professional contributions of women in our community who are “making their mark” by Researching from the Edges.

BU Staff, faculty, students and community members are invited to listen to Brandon University colleagues share how they incorporate non-traditional methodologies such as indigenous research, arts based research, social justice research, participatory and action research.

If you are a faculty member who identifies as a woman who would like to speak about your own innovative research at this event, we invite you to contribute during an open mic session following the scheduled speakers.

This event is part of the national celebration of women’s accomplishments coordinated by Status of Women Canada. We encourage you to go online and share your own stories about how you or someone you know is making a mark at #ClaimYourPlace.
