Our course\u00a0topics\u00a0are diverse in region and scope, and also highlight the importance of diversity and having an open mind.\u00a0As one faculty member likes to say, \u201cKeep your mind open, but not so open that your brain falls out.&#8221;\u00a0Religion Department faculty and their courses help students understand themselves and others\u00a0in a global and increasingly digital world, honing cultural literacy, critical thinking, and community engagement while also providing the tools\u00a0and skills needed to tackle the challenges of the future:\u00a0see list of potential careers below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>You will have an opportunity to explore:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Religion, spirituality, secularism and nonreligion<\/li>\n<li>The history of\u00a0select global\u00a0religions<\/li>\n<li>Western\/European\u00a0theoretical\u00a0models\u00a0and\u00a0Indigenous, Chinese, Afrocentric, feminist and queer ones<\/li>\n<li>Religious competition and\u00a0marginalization\u00a0in a\u00a0secularized\u00a0world<\/li>\n<li>Intersections\u00a0among\u00a0religion, politics,\u00a0and AI<\/li>\n<li>The relationship between religion and gender\u00a0and sexuality<\/li>\n<li>The relationship between religion and food, animals, and ecology<span>\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li>In-depth investigation of specific religious communities and practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Our courses are diverse in region and scope.
