Grade 12 English is required. As a result of pre-requisite requirements for Anatomy &amp; Physiology and Introduction to Statistics,<strong> it is highly recommended that students entering Pre-Psychiatric Nursing have completed Biology 40S and Math 40S Pre-Calculus or Applied.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Requisite Skills, Abilities and Capacities for BScPN Students<\/h4>\n<p>Applicants must be able to demonstrate all requisite skills and abilities as these are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/health-studies\/files\/2020\/03\/Requisite-Skills-and-Abilities-March-2-2020.pdf\">requirements for the BScPN program and the demands of the profession of Psychiatric Nursing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-row \" data-column-group=\"1\">\n<div class=\"new-column-box  full count-1\">\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p><span>Applicants are admitted to Brandon University by completing the<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp.brandonu.ca\/pls\/admission\/\">Admissions application online<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span><span>or by contacting Brandon University Admissions Office at<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"&#109;a&#x69;l&#x74;&#111;&#x3a;&#97;&#x64;&#109;i&#x73;s&#x69;&#111;&#x6e;&#115;&#x40;&#98;&#x72;&#97;n&#x64;o&#x6e;&#117;&#x2e;&#99;&#x61;\">&#x61;&#x64;&#x6d;&#x69;&#x73;&#x73;&#x69;&#x6f;&#110;&#115;&#64;&#98;&#114;&#97;&#110;donu&#x2e;&#x63;&#x61;<\/a><span>. Applications and required documentation should be forwarded to the Admissions office as early as possible to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/future-students\/apply\/application-deadlines\/\">application\/document deadlines<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><!-- .new-column-box -->\n<\/div><!-- .flex-row -->\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\"><span class=\"fa-number2\"><\/span>Admission to Year 2 of the Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing (BScPN) Program<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<h2>Admission to Year 2 of the Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing (BScPN) Program<\/h2>\n<h3>Admission Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>Students may apply and will be considered for admission into the BScPN program providing each Pre-Psychiatric Nursing course is completed with a \u201cC\u201d grade or higher and an overall admission GPA of 2.5 is obtained.<\/p>\n<h4>Admission to the BScPN program is based on:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade Point Average (GPA) in the Pre-Psychiatric Nursing courses (70%)<\/li>\n<li>Casper test results (30%) \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/health-studies\/programs\/bscpn\/admission-to-b-sc-p-n-program\/casper-test\/\"> learn more on the Casper test page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Additionally, applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the application deadline for Year II and show satisfactory completion of:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A university-level Indigenous course or completion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ualberta.ca\/admissions-programs\/online-courses\/indigenous-canada\/index.html\">Indigenous Canada \u2013 University of Alberta <\/a>or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pdce.educ.ubc.ca\/reconciliation\/\">Reconciliation Through Indigenous Education \u2013 University of British Columbia<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Manitoba Child Abuse Registry Check (current within 6 months)<\/li>\n<li>Manitoba Adult Abuse Registry Check (current within 6 months)<\/li>\n<li>Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (current within 6 months)<\/li>\n<li>Immunization Record<\/li>\n<li>IELTS assessment, if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application Assessment<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Seat capacity in Year 2 of the program is limited to 35 students at the Brandon campus and 60 students at the Winnipeg campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In keeping with Brandon University\u2019s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity, a proportion of seats in the program are reserved for graduates of Indigenous Health Studies Transition (IHST) program, applicants who are of Indigenous ancestry, and applicants who are People of Colour.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants to the psychiatric nursing program are ranked, based on the merit of the application, until the maximum enrollment is reached.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-row \" data-column-group=\"2\">\n<div class=\"new-column-box  full count-1\">\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p>Application forms can be obtained from the B.Sc.P.N.
