Banks, Email, Social media sites)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/helpdesk\/it-security\/data-security\/\">Backups &amp; Data Security<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Cloudstorage options, External drives, Encryption<\/li>\n<li>Notify people before sending them links to data<\/li>\n<li>What is Ransomware?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Use AntiVirus\/AntiMalware software<\/li>\n<li>Use passcodes or passwords on your devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When away from campus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure home WiFi is using WPA2\n<ul>\n<li>Set your own passwords for home equipment.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Reduce<\/em><\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>WiFi coverage if it extends beyond your property.<\/li>\n<li>Enable a guest network if you have guests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Consider adding<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cira.ca\/cybersecurity-services\/canadian-shield\">CIRA DNS<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>settings on your home router or each device individually.<\/li>\n<li>When using Public WiFi avoid doing anything sensitive and use VPN if possible.\n<ul>\n<li>Pay attention to your surroundings. People looking at your screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Look for secure sites and secure connections.
