Thank-you for joining our anniversary party<\/h3>\nThank-you for joining our anniversary party<\/h3>\nOur special BU50 Homecoming 2018 was a four-day weekend of fun, festivities and community celebrations. It had been 50 years since the first class graduated from a newly-chartered Brandon University, and the 2018 Homecoming capped a year of celebrating BU’s golden anniversary.<\/p>\n
It was our biggest Homecoming yet, celebrating all alumni, students, faculty, staff, neighbours friends and everyone.<\/p>\n

The BU50 Homecoming 2018 celebration was bigger and better, and we couldn\u2019t have done it without significant support from many friends. We thank the sponsors who contributed to our community anniversary party, and we hope you will thank them as well.<\/a><\/p>\n We have collected images from all of BU50 Homecoming so that the memories will never fade.<\/p>\n So much was happening on campus for Homecoming 2018.<\/p>\n See all Events<\/a> Brandon University welcomed Col. Chris Hadfield to give a public keynote launching Homecoming Weekend.<\/p>\n Tickets sold out.<\/em><\/p>\n Learn more<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n There was free fun on the BU campus for all ages! It started at 10 a.m. with a Cartoon Cereal Bar<\/a> and then a full GamesDay<\/a>. There was a full afternoon of activities.<\/p>\n See the schedule<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Some of Canada\u2019s most exciting musicians put on a free concert in an intimate concert venue \u2014 free! Headliners Royal Canoe and Begonia were joined at Fifty Fest by an eclectic mix of artists from Brandon to British Columbia who all have BU ties.<\/p>\n Let’s rock!<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Since Homecoming 2018 was our largest event yet, we also heard from many alumni who planned special reunions. <\/a>Homecoming 2018 was a milestone reunion for many of our alumni. We were especially thrilled to mark the 50th anniversary of the first-ever class to graduate with Brandon University degrees, the Class of 1968. We also marked special anniversary years for everyone who graduated in a class year that ends in -8 or -3.<\/p>\nBasketball reunion<\/h3>\n

<\/a>A major celebration recognized Brandon University’s rich basketball history at Homecoming. BU Athletics invited both men’s and women’s basketball alumni to celebrate the proud history of College Cap and Bobcat basketball with a reunion and Hall of Fame weekend.<\/p>\n
