Access to University facilities shall not be restricted because of A.I.D.S. or H.I.V. infection or exposure.\n<\/p>\n<h2>\n\tResidence<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tA student with A.I.D.S. or who has tested positive for H.I.V. shall not be excluded on those grounds from living in the University Residences. Immunocompromised students in residence may, at their request, be provided with special accommodation for their own protection, should there be an outbreak of a communicable disease (such as measles).\n<\/p>\n<h2>\n\tConfidentiality<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tNo students or employees of the University shall be required to state whether they have A.I.D.S. or have tested H.I.V. positive. No employee of the University shall release medical information about students or staff without the prior, written consent of the individual concerned, except when required to do so by law.\n<\/p>\n<h2>\n\tInformation<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tThe University shall make available to the entire campus community regular and current information, which is publicly available, on such topics as:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tgeneral hygiene for healthful living;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tinformation regarding institutional policy on A.I.D.S.;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tcurrent medical information regarding A.I.D.S.;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\thealth and safety guidelines;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tcampus and community resources;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tconfidentiality and legal obligations.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\tReview<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tThis policy shall be reviewed annually by the University Health and Safety Committee to ensure that it is consistent with the most recent epidemiological information.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Approved by Senate, March 1991<\/strong><br \/>\n\t<strong>Approved by the Board, May 1991<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Right to Attend Students and staff who have A.I.D.S. or a positive H.I.V. antibody test, whether or not they are symptomatic, have the right to participate in University activities.
